At the symposium, 21 oral presentations and 40 poster presentations by the student participants were judged by 49 senior participants in total from five different countries.

At the closing ceremoney of the symposium, six winners of "AMBS2017 Best Student Presentation Award" were announced, and a commemorative shield was awarded to each of the winners.

Kotaro Kan, Graduate School of Science and  Engineering, Kagoshima University (Japan), Namalycastis spp. (Nereididae, Annelida) living within the decaying plants in estuaries in Malaysia and southern Japan.

Anirut Klomjit, Department of Fishery Biology, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University (Thailand), Antibacterial activity of some brown seaweed from the Gulf of Thailand against multidrug resistant bacteria.

Genki Kobayashi, Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo (Japan), Recent population connectivity of Clymenella collaris (Annelida: Maldanidae) among bays of Tohoku, northeastern Japan.

Tatsuki Koido, Kuroshio Biological Research Foundation (Japan), Molecular phylogenetic analysis of the soft corals Alcyoniina (Cnidaria: Octocorallia) in southern part of Kyushu and Shikoku in Japan.

Luna Yamamori, Graduated School of Human and Environmental studies, Kyoto University (Japan), Limpet-like shell in Trochidae: obligate inquilinism of Broderipia iridescens in pits of sea urchins.

Daishi Yamazaki, Graduate School of Life Science, Tohoku University (Japan), Genetic diversification of intertidal gastropoda in an archipelago: the effects of islands, oceanic currents, and ecology.
